Tanya Deshpande

I was raised across three different countries - Thailand, India, and Hong Kong, and spent most of my formative years in Hong Kong. This upbringing instilled in me an ability to adapt quickly to new environments, fostering a multicultural perspective that has become an intrinsic part of my identity. Growing up, I learnt to speak English, and my two native languages, Hindi and Marathi. I quickly developed a love for languages, and picked up both Mandarin Chinese and French in my early years as well, and I continue to pursue French today.

I completed most of my elementary through high school education in Hong Kong surrounded by a very multicultural environment. I pursued competitive table tennis throughout this period, and was fortunate to compete across the Asia Pacific region with my school team.

Currently, I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at Brown University, pursuing a BA in Economics. At Brown, I continued my passion for table tennis by joining the club team and competing across the United States as I found my love for this new team. Additionally, I continue to pursue French at a higher level as I hope to utilise my language skills to work in France one day.

At Brown, I also discovered an interest in consulting and joined a pre-professional club to further explore this. This led to me meeting amazing people in this field who helped me achieve my goal of entering this profession, and I completed a summer internship at Boston Consulting Group in the Atlanta office last summer.

I will be joining Boston Consulting Group full-time post graduation and I am excited to continue to develop my career aspirations as I leave college.
